Having a bunch of tabs open is a guaranteed way to destroy your computer's performance (I'd put it second only to running Excel on a Mac). It's also an easy way to damage your own work / personal performance. I got One Tab after seeing it in a Business Insider article and tweeted out by Marc Andreessen. Using it is as low maintenance as a Chrome extension can be - just press it and all your tabs collapse into one page, which saves the links by date (so nothing is lost). No cost to getting this thing and guaranteed to boost your productivity, your computer's performance, your attention span, etc - all at zero cost. Remember that unlike closing a tab, One Tab saves you from forgetting that great article on Brady's guaranteed victory over Goodell in court.
